Maximal Joins New Analytical Solutions Forum
Maximal Innovative Intelligence Ltd. announced it has joined the Analytical Solutions Forum (ASF), a new industry consortium dedicated to establishing performance criteria and interoperability requirements for decision support tools. A founding member of the ASF, Maximal has also accepted the chairmanship of a key committee, the DSS Interoperability special interest group (SIG).
Maximal is the developer of Max, a decision support solution. Max utilizes an object-oriented architecture and open interfaces (API) to provide an open and extensible solution that is easily customized.
In his role of chairperson of the DSS Interoperability group within the ASF, Eran Megiddo, Maximal executive vice president of research and development, will be guiding industry efforts to develop standards for analytical solutions spanning data mining, data visualization and OLAP technologies and features. The group aims to give ISVs along with system integrators, VARs and IT departments the ability to integrate different ISV solutions and to maximize the metadata exchange between tools and technologies.
"The establishment of the Analytical Solutions Forum is an important step in the evolution of the business intelligence industry," Megiddo said. "Maximal has led the way in developing open solutions for data analysis combining OLAP, data mining and visualization technologies. Having established a precedent for combining OLAP, visualization and data mining technologies in easy to use solutions, it is our goal to extend this high degree of interoperability industry-wide."
