British Columbia's Ministry of Attny General To Use Brio

Brio Technology, Inc. announced that British Columbia's Ministry of Attorney General has standardized on Brio.Enterprise, Brio's suite of business intelligence products. Representing three distinct branches, including Criminal Justice, Court Services and Corrections, the Ministry of Attorney General selected Brio to provide key decision-makers within each branch the capability to query, analyze, and report on the status of British Columbia's justice and legal system. With the first phase of implementation complete, the Ministry hopes to be better able to manage and predict a variety of dimensions of its services.

Recognizing the importance of connecting each branch, the Ministry of Attorney General is in the process of developing a unique data warehouse architecture that includes a data mart for each specific branch and a general data warehouse for users to conduct Ministry-wide analyses. The Ministry of the Attorney General conducted an extensive review of the leading business intelligence vendors, with representatives from each specific branch participating in the evaluation. Users voted unanimously for Brio.Enterprise, citing ease of use as the primary decision factor.

"It is a testament to Brio's ease of use that it was chosen by our group of users," stated Tom Bennett, the Ministry's director of Management Information and Evaluation Division. "During the evaluation, Brio met specific pre-determined criteria to unseat the incumbent business intelligence tool, and to rise above various other business intelligence vendors."
