Informatica Launches Business Components for SAP R/3

Informatica Corporation announced the general availability of Business Components for SAP R/3, software designed to speed and simplify the complex process of extracting data from the SAP R/3 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for analysis. The first in a family of pre-packaged solutions to be made available from Informatica, Business Components for SAP R/3 attempts to accelerate the conversion of ERP data into customized business information.

Business Components are pre-defined templates that shield data warehouse, data mart, and analytic application architects from the complex process of extracting data from R/3. By providing a business-level view of source ERP data, Business Components will try to help IT professionals who are not familiar with the complex internal structure of R/3 to easily build and maintain analytic systems.
