BroadVision to SAP Integration System Announced

BroadVision Inc, a leading worldwide supplier of personalized e-business applications, announced the BroadVision to SAP Integration System by STC. This is BroadVision's first out-of-the-box solution, utilizing STC's e*Gate technology, that enables data exchanges between SAP R/3 and BroadVision Commerce applications. It furthers BroadVision's goal of delivering the fastest time to integrated e-business and enterprise business systems.

This powerful offering enables companies to create a market-leading Web business that is fully integrated with their back-end ERP systems in weeks instead of months, therefore lowering costs and accelerating overall time to market.

"For our customers it's all about providing a complete customer experience from personalized transactions through customer self-service. To do this right you need to integrate your ERP systems with your Website," said Simon King, vice president of products at BroadVision. "The fact that this is an out-of- the-box product and can be easily implemented makes it a very powerful solution."

Today, Websites are often set up quickly but the exchange of data between the front-end e-commerce applications and SAP is done manually. Tight integration between SAP and the Web site is often a custom, time-consuming task and is not implemented until version two or three of a Website. The new BroadVision to SAP Integration System by STC is an out-of-the-box solution that provides high performance application connectivity and business logic to support end-to-end business processes thus eliminating time consuming custom work and accelerating time-to-market.

"Working with hundreds of the world's leading companies, PricewaterhouseCoopers understands that migrating from the brick and mortar world to the web is a top priority for today's most successful businesses -- and enterprise-wide integration between back office ERP systems to the Web is critical. Linking the essential customer data contained in SAP and other ERP systems to the Web provides the extended enterprise with real-time access to current and relevant customer information without missing a beat -- which delivers a powerful competitive advantage for the customer centric organization," commented Sam Kapreilian, PricewaterhouseCoopers BroadVision e-CRM Practice Leader.

The real-time data exchange between BroadVision and SAP also leads to increased customer satisfaction and higher customer retention rates. Customers can track orders in real time, regardless of where they originated -- from the sales force, call centers or online. Companies can upload product information so that customers can instantly see if products listed are available or no longer carried. And, the synchronization of customer data between SAP and BroadVision allows a single view of each account from a variety of touch points -- the Internet, phone or other point of interaction.

The BroadVision to SAP Integration System by STC lowers the cost of sales and operations for companies by automating the order entry process, updating product information and availability and synchronizing customer information. Companies no longer need to manually enter data to keep their Web-based operations in synch with their back-office systems. Additionally, the underlying system architecture allows for easy integration to additional legacy, ERP, e-business applications and back-end systems.

Developed by STC, a known market leader in the eBusiness Integration space, the BroadVision to SAP Integration System utilizes STC's flagship product, e*Gate Integrator, a high-performance eBusiness integration architecture which quickly integrates disparate systems within and among enterprises around the globe. By automating the integration processes between e-commerce applications, ERP and back-office systems, e*Gate provides a robust event-driven eBusiness integration platform, supporting synchronous, asynchronous, real-time and batch connectivity, ensuring tight integration to BroadVision's API.

BroadVision's eAI strategy is to work closely with leading vendors to develop BroadVision Integration Systems to several ERP applications leading to the strongest competitive position by providing connectivity to back-end systems. The BroadVision to SAP Integration System by STC results from a strategic partnership that unites two of the strongest players in the e-Business market space for SAP R/3 business-to-business e-Commerce integration, and further endorses BroadVision's strategy to help its customers quickly and cost effectively implement e-business solutions.

Customers interested in the new BroadVision to SAP Integration System, designed by STC, should contact their local BroadVision representative or visit BroadVision's Website at www.broadvision.com. The product is scheduled to ship by the end of March 2000.
