BMC Software Sells Data Mgmt Products to Blue CrossBMC Software Inc announced that South Carolina's largest insurance provider, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina (BCBSSC), has purchased several of BMC Software's Data Management solutions to help meet their Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and to minimize downtime. With these products, BCBS will be able to ensure business continuity through automated, rapid recovery and consistent data management. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina's customers are located across multiple time zones so around-the-clock data availability is a necessity. In order to meet their future SLAs, BCBSSC needs to have their IMS database available and performing well 24x365. Because they would not be able to meet these SLAs with their IDI solutions, BCBSSC chose to replace their IDI (recently acquired by Computer Associates) products with a combination of MAXM and RESOLVE solutions from BMC Software. These products, part of the MAXM and RESOLVE product lines, minimize downtime by recovering all elements necessary to get applications back online in the shortest time possible.
