Speedware Begins Work on NYC "City Time" Project

Visionyze.com, a division of Speedware Corporation announced that its suite of integrated business intelligence products, Media and Esperant, are part of the City of New York's "City Time" project, a five-year, $65 million project that will measure the attendance record of the city's 255,000 employees. Visionyze.com's contribution to the City Time project is valued at over US$1.4 million, with almost 50% of that amount to be realized during the company's current fiscal year.

The City Time project, initiated in December 1998 and led by prime contractor Paradigm 4, will allow City of New York managers across 80 departments and agencies to more effectively track and manage employees' time. Visionyze.com's Media and Esperant products are providing users with a seamless environment in which to access, query, analyze, and report on critical factors such as absenteeism, tardiness, leaves, and scheduling.

Media is an online analytical processing (OLAP) product that can access data on a real-time basis, providing enterprise decision support and analysis. Esperant is a graphical query and reporting tool (MQE) that tames complex data structures and SQL with point and click user-friendliness. The products are seamlessly integrated to empower users in an organization with true enterprise business intelligence and to provide the infrastructure for Visionyze.com's analytic applications.

Visionyze.com's parent company, Speedware, will also provide consulting services for the City Time project. "The City Time project is a clear example of our vision moving forward," said Bill Thomson, Speedware's president and CEO. "The City of New York will benefit from our Professional Services Organization's ability to deploy our robust solutions and analytics across complex environments, and we are happy to be providing that expertise."

"Speedware has been a strong partner for us through all phases of this project," adds Charles Loughhead, Paradigm 4's City Time Project Manager. "Media and Esperant make it easy for City Time's users to understand and analyze all of the information they will now see about city employees. Speedware is working hard to help us deploy our solution effectively, to help us make sure our customer gets the most out of this project."
