E*TRADE Selects NCR's Teradata Active Warehouse

NCR Corporation announces that E*TRADE, a leader in electronic personal financial services, has selected NCR's E-Business Teradata Active Warehouse to capture and analyze data collected daily from its thousands of online transactions.

The $3 million solution, which includes NCR Teradata database, TeraMiner data mining software, hardware and services, will enable E*TRADE to better serve customers by allowing the company to understand consumer trends and generate answers to its most complex marketing questions. E*TRADE maintains a comprehensive privacy policy and does not sell customer information to third party vendors.

With rollout scheduled for second quarter 2000, E*TRADE's Teradata Warehouse will be more than one terabyte in size. E*TRADE will join industry leaders in the financial services, retail, telecommunications and transportation industries as a member of NCR's 'Terabyte Hall of Fame.' One terabyte of information is the equivalent of 38 miles of full file cabinets.
