Business Objects e-BI Solution Selected by MatchLogic

Business Objects, a leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions, announces that MatchLogic, a leading data-driven online advertising company and wholly-owned subsidiary of Excite@Home, has selected Business Objects for its e-BI infrastructure.

MatchLogic has developed a sophisticated system that makes sense of the massive amounts of Web traffic to help advertisers and retailers optimize their media buys and sell more effectively on the Internet.

MatchLogic uses Business Objects e-BI solutions for click-stream reporting to identify statistics, such as which advertisements drive the most and least visitors to a client's site and the length of time a visitor stays on a site. With this information, MatchLogic helps its clients make instantaneous improvements to their online presence by increasing placement of successful advertisements and removing or changing those that are less effective. The product is also used in MatchLogic's eCRM (Customer Relationship Management) product line.

In addition, MatchLogic uses WebIntelligence(R), the integrated query, reporting, and online analytical processing (OLAP) tool for the Internet from Business Objects, to deliver reporting information via an extranet direct to its clients, giving them immediate access to information on the performance of their e-business initiatives.

"The successful companies of tomorrow will be those that understand how to make sense of their rapidly growing e-commerce data," said Tony Jewitt, vice president of extranet business development at Business Objects. "We are pleased to partner with MatchLogic, a leader in digital marketing, to help both traditional brick and mortar companies and Internet retailers produce more effective online advertising."

"Business Objects e-BI solutions help our clients achieve customer acquisition and retention while maintaining consumer privacy," said Jack Garzella, senior director of eCRM and datamart products at MatchLogic. "The solutions are scaleable, easy to use, and integrate seamlessly with our multiple data sets, enabling us to deliver Web-based reporting data direct to our business partners via a secure Web interface."

About Business Objects

Business Objects is a leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions. The company coined the term e-business intelligence in 1998 to describe the intersection of business intelligence and the Internet. Using ebusiness intelligence, organizations can access, analyze and share information in intranet, extranet and e-business environments. In intranets, the company's products provide employees with information to make better business decisions, and are used in environments ranging from workgroups of 20 users to enterprise deployments exceeding 20,000. In the extranet environment, the company is pioneering the use of e-BI in applications that allow organizations to build stronger relationships by linking customers, partners, and suppliers via the Internet. In addition, the company's products can improve the performance of an e-business by providing reporting and analysis against the ever-expanding amount of transaction and profile data that is collected each day throughout the World Wide Web.

Founded in 1990, Business Objects pioneered the modern business intelligence industry by inventing and patenting a "semantic layer" that insulates users from the technical complexity of database systems. Today, the company has sold more than 1,683,000 licenses to 9,700 organizations in more than 80 countries. Business Objects can be reached at 408/953-6000 and www.businessobjects.com.
