INT'L CAPRI RESOURCES ANNNOUNCES NEW SEARCH TECHNOLOGYThe Company's (International Capri Resources Ltd.) search technology is a revolutionary new way of locating information on the Internet. Its proprietary concept-based search technology focuses on results relevancy and brings a degree of order to the mayhem of the Internet. At the heart of the system is a structured database system, built using clustering techniques that provide for scalability and quick data retrieval. Web pages are brought into the database via intelligent robots that use the categorization engine to automatically classify and store each page based on its content. The system also features an advanced graphical user interface (GUI), providing Internet users with a new ease-of-use. It also provides for translation into 18 foreign languages. Traditionally, a user searching for data on the Internet will use keywords to find what they are looking for. The Company's system uses a combination of keyword searching and concept-based searching that allows users to retrieve Web pages specifically within a desired concept. The concept categories are built on the Dewey Decimal System - the world's most successful classification of human knowledge. The end result is that the user will get back higher quality results in less time, and avoid irrelevant, unwanted or duplicate data. Population of the database is achieved through Internet robots that retrieve and categorize Web pages using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and data mining techniques. These robots analyze the content of each Web page they collect, and then make an accurate categorization into one or more areas of the database. The robot's AI also generates a knowledge base that will "learn" as it classifies, providing for more precise classification and higher quality data results over time. Verification routines are used to ensure that Web pages within the database are categorized accurately, and that no dead links exist. "By applying structured data design and concept-based searching to the unorganized mass of information that is the Internet today, we are creating an unheard-of degree of data relevance in internet search results." says John Roebuck, Chief Technology Officer. The concept for the system was derived from a three-and-a-half year study of the habits of Internet users. The project draws upon relational theory, information science and post-graduate research in the development of its classification engine and artificial intelligence. The Company's business model is to be a supplier of Internet data, and to license it's concept-based search engine technology and data to search engines, specialty portals and research organizations. The Company plans to use this technology interest to expand into other areas of the Internet and corporate markets including, wireless Internet, data mining applications and data analysis systems. Forrestor Research has predicted that Internet caching will become a multi-billion dollar market by 2002. It is estimated that by the year 2005, the wireless e-commerce industry market will be $200 billion. Industry analysts predict that corporate data mining and data analysis market is on the verge of unprecedented growth.
