NEON Certifies TANTAU's Wireless Internet Platform

NEON Systems Inc, a leading provider of eBusiness Integration, Security, and Subsystem Management software products, announced that it has certified TANTAU's Wireless Internet Platform to seamlessly integrate with the NEON Shadow Direct software. TANTAU's and NEON Systems' combined technologies will deliver rapid and reliable delivery of enterprise data and transactions from an organization's System/390 mainframe platform to its customers' wired and wireless devices: cellular telephones, personal digital assistants, pagers and Web browsers, by creating a link between the device and the System/390 mainframe environment.

"Tremendous growth in the wireless revolution is contributing to the demand for eBusiness Integration solutions," said Joe Backer, president and CEO of NEON Systems. "Global 2000 companies are more effective if they have access to mission-critical information, like customer account data. We are excited that the blending of NEON Systems' and TANTAU's technologies will deliver a complete m-commerce solution, while protecting organizations' investments in information, applications, and hardware with one infrastructure."

"Today we see financial and investment enterprises struggling to create m-commerce capabilities with their existing mainframe infrastructure," said John Sims, president and CEO of TANTAU. "The combination of TANTAU's and NEON Systems' technologies enables these organizations to integrate a successful mcommerce application and leverage their investment in legacy systems. Our partnership with NEON Systems allows an enterprise to retrieve data and use it for secure wireless transactions."

With m-commerce expected to grow exponentially over the next three years, businesses that can offer secure wireless transaction capabilities today have a head start in capturing and retaining customers. TANTAU's Wireless Internet Platform enables an enterprise to integrate its wireless and wired online channels, offering solutions for businesses who anticipate high volume of ecommerce transactions. It features multiple protocol support (including WAP 1.1, SMS), gateways for integration with back-end applications and data sources, and the ability to create personalized applications based on user preference. The Wireless Internet Platform addresses the critical requirements for m-commerce: security, scalability, availability, and transaction integrity.

More than 70% of mission-critical corporate information continues to reside on mainframes. To successfully participate in business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-initiatives such as Web-to-host data access, application renewal, client/server application development, or enterprise application integration, a key element is access to System/390 IMS, CICS, VSAM, ADABAS, or DB2 data and transactions. NEON Systems' Shadow Direct is the strategic choice of many Global 2000 companies to provide rapid deployment for e-initiatives through an open and less complex architecture.
