MedCom USA Inc Announces New Florida DW/ASP Facility

MedCom USA Inc, a provider of innovative solutions for electronically processing transactions within the healthcare industry, announced its plans for a new data warehouse/ASP (Application Service Provider) facility in central Florida.

MedCom's new facility will greatly enhance the quality and types of services offered to its customers who will use its Health Information Gateway. These customers will include hospitals, insurance companies and healthcare providers. The facility will provide a safe and secure space for the networking equipment, as well as a fast and reliable connection to the public Internet or private intranets.

ASP services will enable customers to rapidly access data without the initial and continuing capital expense needed to build, operate and maintain their own technologically complex facility. Health care organizations will now be able to utilize the e-business capabilities in real time, any time in ways they have never been able to before. In addition, our rapid prototyping capability will allow customers to speedily get to market, while meeting the particular needs of their individual users.

Additionally, trained personnel will monitor our systems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility will also be equipped with full generator back up and it will be hardened against natural disasters. This means that our customers can go to sleep at night knowing that their data is safe. Plus, they will not need to hire expensive technical personnel or spend large amounts of money for hardware and support. They can migrate to their own facility at some point in the future or stay on our ASP system indefinitely. Our state-of-theart facility will give us the ability to provide scalable, reliable and affordable e-business intelligence services for the Healthcare Industry," added Mr. Robinson.

The new data warehousing and ASP services will be built on technology from NCR's Teradata platform, utilizing MicroStrategy's Intelligent E-Business software.
