Brio Technology Introduces New Brio.Report 6.0

Brio Technology Inc, a leading provider of analytic solutions for the eenterprise, announced the general availability of its Brio.Report 6.0, Brio's latest release of its enterprise reporting solution. With support for eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Brio.Report now delivers cross platform integration capabilities to support business-to-business relationships and drive XML applications such as Wireless Markup Language (WML) to distribute information to mobile user through a cell phone or hand-held client device. This enhanced capability supports the changing needs of today's workforce and encompasses a broader audience of local, remote and mobile end users. Brio.Report 6.0 was demonstrated today in front of more than 750 established corporate Brio customers at Insight 2000, Brio's second annual user conference.

In addition to its support for XML, Brio.Report 6.0 has incorporated a number of other features that extend its data access and report deployment capabilities. The XML support within Brio.Report 6.0 exploits Brio's innovative patent-pending Direct Data Objects (DDO) technology, which provides multi-platform access to any enterprise data source, including relational, multidimensional or object-based data. In addition, Brio.Report will work seamlessly with Brio.Portal to deliver secure page output capabilities and deliver timely exception reports to the right people in the right format.

Available immediately, Brio.Report 6.0 includes the following components: Enhanced business charting capabilities, platform-independent RGB color model (16 million shades), accelerated PDF (Acrobat) file generation, support for multidimensional data access (Essbase, MS-OLAP), automatic ZIP compression of Web report file sets, multi-query/sub-query support in Brio.Report Builder and updated Java capabilities across all supported platforms.
