Inxight Ships LinguistX Platform 3.0

Inxight Software Inc, the pioneer in open portal building block software for Web builders and end users, announced the LinguistX Platform 3.0, a multilingual language processing software product powerful enough to analyze massive text repositories such as the Web, news archives, email and document libraries.

LinguistX Platform is designed to bring linguistic intelligence to textintensive applications such as full-text search engines, collaboration platforms and enterprise information portals. A collection of advanced natural language processing engines, LinguistX includes state-of-the-art software for automatic content analysis and information extraction, giving the software the power to tap into the information in documents.

"This next generation of LinguistX makes our proven technology available via a high level, object-oriented API," said Ian Hersey, Inxight's vice president of linguistic products. "All future versions of our other products, including Thing Finder, Summarizer and Categorizer, will use LinguistX 3.0 for their core text analysis services. LinguistX will also be the technology base into which we will add support for Japanese, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese and Korean later this year. This is in addition to the other 12 European languages we already support."

With LinguistX Platform 3.0, developers and information providers can easily and quickly identify root word forms in context, parts of speech, and multiword concepts. This in turn allows customers to build more intelligent applications for full-text searches, electronic publishing, email routing and response, and other knowledge based solutions. Because LinguistX Platform 3.0 is provided as modular engines, development costs and overall time to market is greatly diminished. Inxight customers who are already using LinguistX technology include Oracle, Excite, Verity, Inktomi, Infoseek, Inference and Dataware.
