MPSI Systems Appears on World Business Review TV Series

Multi-Media Productions (USA), Inc is proud to announce the appearance of Ronald Harper, chairman and CEO of MPSI Systems, on World Business Review. The weekly television series focuses on business and technology, and is hosted by General Alexander Haig, chairman of Worldwide Associates Inc and former president and chief operating officer of United Technologies. General Haig is also former U.S. Secretary of State during the Reagan administration. Dan Miklovic, vice president of Collaborative Commerce at the Gartner Group, joins the discussion as industry expert. The topic of the discussion is "Strategic Market Planning."

"MPSI Systems was selected to appear on the program because it has developed simulation technology that is providing retailers and others with a viable competitive advantage over their competition through predictive modeling and analysis," says Chris Graniti, the show's associate producer.

MPSI develops sophisticated, interactive PC-based modeling systems that offer a consistent, systematic approach to simulating, measuring, interpreting and predicting consumer behavior in the retail environment. These mathematical models capture customer information that can predict the impact that even minor strategic initiatives or changes might have on a company's bottom line. The system is also able to measure the impact of such changes on the competition. In today's continuously changing business arena, that could be powerful ammunition to have on hand.

Harper discusses MPSI's simulation technology, what it means for retailers, how these models work and other market factors, particularly those concerning the petroleum and financial services (banking) industry. He also addresses retail planning issues in detail, and shares how MPSI's technology is making a difference, citing examples of its application. "As far as we know, we're the only company that has a model that will do four things in one package--a model that will inform, a model that will predict, a model that will explain and a model that will prescribe," said Harper.

Miklovic explained the reasoning behind the demand for technologies such as those that MPSI provides, "You need facts and data. You can't operate your business anymore based on gut instinct," stated Miklovic.

Retail Explorer, the company's flagship product, was introduced in North America last August. The original product addresses the modeling needs of convenience store and petroleum marketers. A new iteration of Retail Explorer will be released in July 2000 to meet the market planning needs of all retailers around the world. MPSI also offers a suite of pricing tools, geographically-specific information databases and consulting services Its traffic count data for the U.S. is the most comprehensive available anywhere with over 1,000,000 data points.

Taped in Washington, D.C., World Business Review currently airs on PBS The Business Channel, and in prime business time slots in numerous Public Television markets, including San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Washington. The weekly series can also be viewed on TWA, United Airlines or from any desktop computer via AENTV.
