Sybase Announces Availability of Middleware Products

In its strategy to be the premier supplier of e-Business solutions, Sybase Inc, announced the general availability of Sybase Replication Server 12.0, Sybase EnterpriseConnect 12.0 and Sybase MainframeConnect 12.0. The products allow users to fully leverage their existing information resources throughout the enterprise by enabling the movement or access of mission critical information from disparate mainframe sources and other LAN datastores. In addition, the products are also compatible with Sybase Enterprise Portal technology.

The three products are easy to use and allow simplified set-up and management of complex, enterprise-wide replication or connectivity. Moreover, they afford each customer the flexibility to integrate their applications, systems and data from heterogeneous sources.

The new versions support access to DRDA/MVS and international character sets and enable access to foreign datastores. Support for Microsoft SQL Server has been added as a source for data replication, as well as enhanced support for access to Oracle, IBM and Informix datastores.

Sybase Replication Server 12.0

Replication Server 12.0 provides near real-time, bi-directional data replication across enterprise, client/server, desktop systems and occasionally connected systems, even over a geographically distributed environment. An enhanced graphical management and monitoring interface for all components in a replication environment has been added for version 12.0.

Sybase Replication Server 12.0 is available now with prices starting at $890 for a server and one networked seat.

Sybase EnterpriseConnect 12.0

EnterpriseConnect 12.0 enables seamless distributed access to data sources across the enterprise by providing location-transparent transactional replication between heterogeneous data sources. Despite the many different databases used in an organization's operational systems, Sybase EnterpriseConnect 12.0 provides virtually all the necessary database connectivity software in an easy-to-install, easy-to-maintain solution. Data sources supported include Oracle, Informix, and Microsoft for data movement and additionally AS400, DB2/DRDA for data access.

Sybase EnterpriseConnect 12.0 is available now with prices starting at $7,250 for the server and five networked seats.

Sybase MainframeConnect 12.0

MainframeConnect 12.0 provides connectivity between client/server databases and mainframe data, as well as high-performance access to DB2/MVS data and online production applications in CICS, IMS/TM, and MVS mainframe environments. In addition, production applications in CICS, IMS/TM, and MVS environments may also act as a client to LAN based data and applications.

Sybase MainframeConnect 12.0 is available now with prices starting at $27,475 for the server and five networked seats.
