MICHIGAN MILLERS MUTUAL INS SELECTS CA'S UNICENTER TNG

Computer Associates International Inc (CA) announced that Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Co (Michigan Millers) has selected CA's Unicenter TNG, Insurance Knowledge Analyzer and DecisionBase solutions to manage its information technology enterprise. Michigan Millers can now effectively leverage business-critical data and ensure the successful migration from its legacy-based environment to a new automated insurance eBusiness platform. CA Services is playing an integral role in the implementation and ongoing development of the customized solutions.

Michigan Millers provides property and casualty insurance products to the general business marketplace through regional independent agency systems as well as specialized insurance products and services for agribusiness. The company selected CA products and services to enable its business users to more effectively leverage desktop data residing on its corporate network, and enhance the value of its overall data warehouse environment.

CA's Knowledge Analyzer, a Windows-based insurance decision support system and integrated data model, allows Michigan Millers to fully manage and analyze critical business data by serving as a robust interface and transition vehicle to the company's newly purchased Mynd insurance enterprise solution.

Through a wide range of comprehensive management reporting modules, Knowledge Analyzers provides Michigan Millers with the ability to effectively locate profitable business segments and maximize agent/broker relationships. The software delivers a broad view of industry-specific data and enables users to drill down to any level of detail required to conduct investigations and take action.

In addition, Michigan Millers utilizes CA's DecisionBase solutions to design, deploy, manage and leverage information across its comprehensive data warehouse environment. Built upon industry-leading repository technology, the product enables users to incrementally expand their data warehouse environments to support individual business unit needs, and plan for future growth and change.

CA's Knowledge Analyzer and DecisionBase products are customized products built upon technologies developed by PLATINUM Technology Inc, which was acquired by CA last year.

Throughout its product investigation, Michigan Millers discovered not only the benefits of implementing CA's advanced data warehouse management solutions, but also the tremendous importance of effectively controlling the platforms and applications constituting the company's heterogeneous IT infrastructure. The realization led to the selection of Unicenter TNG, CA's end-to-end enterprise management solution, to control IT assets across the company.

The company was also impressed with CA Services. Michigan Millers will deploy the Unicenter TNG Framework as well as a wide range of add-on modules, starting with the Remote Control Option (RCO) and Asset Management Option (AMO) of Unicenter TNG. Implementation of the Unicenter TNG Advanced Help Desk (AHD) is planned later this year.
