Macromedia Announces Support for Oracle iAS

Macromedia Inc, a leading provider of solutions for compelling and effective Web sites, announced that it will support Oracle Internet Application Server 8i (Oracle iAS) with Macromedia GeneratorT 2 Enterprise Edition.

Macromedia Generator is the first and only high performance, scalable solution that enables Global 2000 companies to quickly deliver high-impact, data-driven, visual Web content on leading e-business platforms. Oracle Internet Application Server 8i offers a complete set of middle-tier services for Internet and intranet applications. Oracle Internet Application Server is the only product which accelerates Web applications with dynamic caching, broadens access to business intelligence with integrated reporting and querying, and offers a single console for managing an entire Web site.

Macromedia Generator 2 Enterprise Edition creates high-impact visuals by integrating content from enterprise databases, application servers, and content management systems with flexible graphical templates. Once the look and feel is designed with Macromedia FlashT 4, Generator 2 Enterprise Edition populates the content with real-time information and delivers it to Web site visitors. This reduces workflow and maintenance costs for site publishers, while delivering visual content that can be personalized for one-to-one targeting of Web site visitors in real-time.

"Macromedia Generator 2 Enterprise Edition brings a reliable, scalable solution for data-driven graphics to the powerful Oracle iAS platform," said Diane Rogers, vice president of product management for Macromedia.

"Macromedia Generator delivers a measurable return on investment to e-business sites that need to deliver visual impact, and an immediate ROI on investment to Oracle customers is that Generator can leverage content stored in Oracle iAS to quickly deliver personalized, graphical content to site visitors." "Oracle iAS, the next generation of the Oracle Application Server, is redefining the application server market," said Jeremy Burton, senior vice president of Oracle Product Marketing. "By combining the breadth and depth of technology in Oracle iAS and Oracle8i with Macromedia Generator Enterprise Edition, our combined customers can deliver amazing visual content on the most secure, reliable and scalable platform for deploying Internet applications."
