MINDFULEYE SEEKS TO PATENT AI TECHNOLOGYMindfulEye Inc announced its filing of a provisional patent application with the United States Patent Office. The filing covers MindfulEye's artificial intelligence-based technology that uses advanced ranking algorithms and natural language processing to analyze textual content in real-time as it occurs on the Internet. This provisional patent filing follows the company's June 29 phase II beta launch of their first application of the technology that can automatically, continuously and intelligently gauge public sentiment about the market and of individual public companies. Using subjective content analysis to interpret the mood or qualitative nature of data is a new category of technology being created by MindfulEye. The company's chief technology officer Todd Cusolle, who was a consultant and senior Internet architect for some of North America's leading financial institutions including Canada Trust, Fleet Bank and Comerica, says that it is the science behind the service that distinguishes MindfulEye from other Internet research and monitoring provider. "Existing monitoring services only offer keyword searches. MindfulEye is the first provider to offer actual contextual search capabilities using a form of artificial intelligence. It's a much more sophisticated, accurate and meaningful method of qualifying and quantifying Internet content for investor purposes," said Cusolle. Key is the fact that the service delivers information in real time while it has maximum value. This is critical, as it is becoming increasingly evident that news, rumors and information on the Internet can quickly affect the stock price and investor confidence in public companies. "We expect that our service will be an invaluable tool in the due diligence process, will provide a trading advantage, and that overall it will greatly support investor and public relations professionals, brokers, analysts and even individual investors in monitoring their stock portfolio," said Ray Torresan, company president. The company intends to submit a complete patent filing in the fall of 2000. The full product release for the North American investment market is scheduled for September 2000, and the company intends to develop versions for other international markets, including Germany and the United Kingdom. Additional subscription-based services will be introduced leading to September's launch, including the option for investors to be immediately alerted by cell phone, PalmPilot-type devices, pager, e-mail or fax.
