Constellar Launches e-Series Solution

A powerful new software solution from EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) market leader Constellar provides the first comprehensive architecture for total integration of an entire organization's systems and information, including e-business applications. Constellar's new e-Series solution extends the benefits of integrating information from back office applications, such as SAP and Peoplesoft, to front office, outward facing applications, such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), portals and Web supply chains.

Positioned at the heart of the enterprise, Constellar's e-Series solution enables the movement, transformation and integration of data between applications and across all core business functions, both within companies and across the extended enterprise. It builds on Constellar's existing Hub 3.0 product, which is already used by major companies such as ScottishPower, Citibank, General Electric, Sprint, SBC, London Post Office, Readers Digest and Conseco.

"The e-Series extends Constellar's product beyond its strong Oracle integration to include SAP and PeopleSoft, and support for XML and HTTP remarked Tom Dwyer, managing director, Aberdeen Group. "The combination of these additional features, improved ease-of-use and its sophisticated hub-and-spoke data integration architecture delivers a compelling e-business integration platform."

"As companies evolve into e-businesses, the need for a single, unified view of customer and application data is vital to succeed," said Michael Aldridge, director of sales EMEA, Constellar. "Constellar's e-Series solution provides a complete solution to rapidly integrate any combination of applications, along with the power and scalability to deal with the largest and most complex enterprises. Constellar's e-Series solution brings EAI to the e-business world and allows companies to face the challenges of the new economy with confidence."

"Competing in a rapidly changing marketplace, it is vital that we seamlessly bridge information across all of our IT systems and make it available to our users as well as regulatory authorities around the world," comments Laura Jacobowitz, associate director, architecture, Reader's Digest Association, Inc. "We are depending on Constellar to link our legacy systems with our new ERP and CRM systems and have begun a worldwide rollout of the tool. Our business depends on large data feeds from our fulfilment suppliers. We are using Constellar to build the bridges between the vendor systems and our systems. Constellar has already become entrenched in many of our development initiatives and within a year, Constellar will be the central repository of all interfaces and transformations occurring between Reader's Digest systems and vendor systems." Reader's Digest, is the world's best-selling magazine, reaching 100 million readers globally. The company has been using Constellar products since January 2000.

About the e-Series

Constellar's e-Series solution supports the integration of the broadest spectrum of applications on the market, from e-mail, fixed and wireless Internet, HTTP and XML at the front-end through to back office systems such as Oracle, SAP, MVS/AS400, messaging, SQL, data warehousing and Siebel. It differs from previous Constellar software suites by delivering full support for e-commerce and e-business applications, in addition to existing enterprise-wide systems such as ERP, financials, manufacturing and supply chain.

The new software suite, which runs on Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, Windows NT, Dynix/ptx and TRU64 UNIX, enables companies to build integrated applications by reusing components of existing applications and adding logical process flow to move transactions around disparate systems and applications. It also provides a bridge for companies that need to move and integrate data between disparate systems via bulk transfers, where EAI has its roots, as well as via message queues, one of the fastest growing segments of the EAI market.
