Spotfire Delivers Version 5.0 of Spotfire.net

Spotfire Inc announced the delivery of Spotfire.net 5.0, which integrates in one decision analytics workspace the tools scientists, researchers, product managers and engineers need to make faster, more informed decisions. The new version, which extends Spotfire.net's capabilities in the areas of interactive visual analysis, data mining and data access, is immediately available to all of Spotfire's 8,000 license and maintenance subscribers. Additionally, Version 5.0 provides new Web capabilities that impact the productivity of communities of users responsible for analyzing mission critical data and sharing results across their organizations.

Specifically, this new version of Spotfire.net provides enhancements to the following areas:

Increased Data Access. Over one million records can now be easily accessed and analyzed within Spotfire's interactive visual environment. In addition to Spotfire.net's capabilities to access corporate data sources, Version 5.0 provides simple cut and paste techniques to allow users to rapidly import and integrate: any relational database such as Oracle, Sybase, Informix or Microsoft Access; comma, tab or semicolon delimited text files; Microsoft Excel spreadsheets; and any information publicly available on the Internet. The new version also allows users to reshape data on import and customize text file import.

Powerful Visual Analysis. Spotfire.net offers powerful analytical abilities through a variety of plotting tools and query devices in string, real, integer, time and date format. With this release, Spotfire has added trellis plots, which enable users to more effectively navigate complex data sets, split plots and more easily spot trends and similarities between clusters or subgroups. Profile charts (parallel coordinate plots) have also been added to give users the ability to easily view, compare and track time series data.

Flexible Reporting. Users now have the flexibility of exporting files in XML, to customize data storage. In addition, this version offers improved printing capabilities including more control over the aesthetics and formats of reports, a simplified Print Setup and improved printout quality.

Offered as a subscription service, Spotfire.net 5.0 can be personalized to meet the specific requirements of researchers, engineers, managers, and IT support staff across a variety of industries. Using Spotfire's Application Programming Interface (API), customers can embed their best practices in the form of business process scenarios and templates to improve user productivity and speed decision-making and the communication of analytical results across their organizations.
