ObjectStream Integrates Versant DB Technology

Versant Corporation, a leading provider of e-business infrastructure software, announced that ObjectStream Inc, has chosen Versant's fifth-generation object-oriented database technology. Versant's Object Database Management System (ODBMS) is being deployed in ObjectStream's Apsyda Internet Infrastructure Platform.

Apsyda is a software solution that enables Global 2000 companies to build the critical Internet infrastructure required to deploy and manage superior e-services over a global array of networks and applications, ranging from optical telecommunications networks and next-generation handheld wireless devices to customer care and e-commerce applications. The integration with Versant's industry-leading technology enhances Apsyda's performance and effectiveness as an object-oriented infrastructure platform.

Embedded within the Apsyda platform, the ODBMS is optimized to operate in unison with Apsyda's Network Resource Automation, a process unique to ObjectStream that models resources in the network and their interaction with business and network applications. Combined with the system's core modules, Versant's technology provides high flexibility and performance improvements of up to 50 percent.

Versant's Persistence module, which allows object instances representing network or application entities to be stored persistently in the database in the Apsyda system, adds speed, accessibility and reliability to Apsyda's high-performance system. The Apsyda Internet Infrastructure Platform bridges the chasm between business and network applications, and the Internet.

The system provides the highest level of e-service, strengthening the e-brand, accelerating time to market and providing a future-proof platform for introducing innovative new products and services.
