Pieper, Richey Join pcOrder.com Management Team

pcOrder.com Inc, a leading provider of business-to-business e-commerce technology and transactive content for the technology industry, announced the appointment of Kalen Pieper to chief talent officer and the appointment of Jeff Richey to vice president of engineering. Pieper and Richey bring substantial talent and management experience from their respective fields, human resources and database management systems.

In Pieper's new role, she will be responsible for managing the Human Resources department and ensuring that pcOrder continues to attract and develop the most talented candidates.

Pieper joins pcOrder from Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, where she held key leadership roles for the global organization. Most recently, Pieper was the director of human resources at the company's pharmaceutical research institute, devising and executing strategies to realign senior management roles and to recruit and retain top talent. Prior to Pieper's time at the research institute, Pieper held managerial roles within Bristol-Myers Squibb's international human resource departments. Pieper also worked in development, project management, and consultant departments at The Pepsi-Cola Company, Frito-Lay Company, and The Vandaveer Group Inc, respectively.

Pieper holds a masters and Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin.

With more than 15 years of database and high-tech leadership experience, Richey will be responsible for product design, development, deployment, and customer relationship management.

Richey joins pcOrder from PointBase Inc, where he was vice president of engineering, chief technology officer, and co-founder. PointBase sells a 100% Pure Java database management and synchronization product for wireless applications. Richey holds patents on six key innovations in SQL query performance and enterprise data synchronization and is a recognized leader in relational database management systems development and SQL standards. Richey also worked for IBM, Oracle, and Sybase where he held such positions as director, development manager, architect, and engineer on each company's respective relational database management system products.

After earning a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in math and accounting from Brigham Young University, Richey took graduate courses in computer science from Stanford and UC Berkeley.
