NQL LAUNCHES BETA VERSION OF ITS IQ WebShopper

The NQL Internet division of AlphaServ.com announced its entry into the shopping platform category with the launch of the beta version of its IQ WebShopper, which is powered by the company's patent-pending Network Query Language.

This shopping platform enables businesses to add automated and customized online shopping to their Web sites with rapid deployment time and execution speed. The IQ WebShopper launch will be followed shortly with the launch of the IQ BusinessShopper for business procurement. The IQ Shopper platform will incorporate native broad-based wireless capabilities and artificial intelligence features already integrated into NQL's core technology.

NQL's focus on the shopping category is part of the company's strategic plan to capitalize on the explosive growth projected within the B2B e-commerce market. Forrester Research predicts that B2B e-commerce will reach $251 billion next year and $1.4 trillion by 2003.

"We saw a need in the e-commerce market for a completely flexible shopping platform that is not limited to a pre-determined set of vendors, databases or alliances, and developed an easier-to-use, customizable product using our patent-pending Network Query Language," said Douglas J. Tullio, AlphaServ.com chairman, chief executive officer and president.

"As a shopping infrastructure, this initiative will offer bolt-on solutions to a variety of customers to reduce their overall cost of implementation," added Tullio. "The IQ WebShopper will be available through licensing and also features a revenue-sharing component based on volume."

Designed for Web-based businesses and solution providers, IQ WebShopper is the first in the family of products being offered in the new IQ Series of smart software applications. IQ WebShopper's three-tier architecture consists of a Web interface, a database and NQL agents, which serve as the underlying shopping bots. It can be custom configured to stand alone or integrated with existing enterprise applications. Also, its scalable architecture supports small to large configurations, from a single PC to an IT infrastructure spread across multiple servers handling increased traffic.

"A significant business benefit of IQ WebShopper is its ability to go beyond the typical shopping portal model that only searches pre-arranged merchants," said Denny Michael, vice president of marketing for NQL. "While some shopping sites draw their results only from a selected database, IQ WebShopper can access price and product information through an unlimited number of Web sites or databases in real time to browse and/or make purchases. With the addition of artificial intelligence functionalities, the product can be tuned to provide a more personalized end result based on the customer's needs."

"The mission of the IQ Shopper platform is to enable and encourage businesses to easily incorporate online shopping into their Web sites, while providing leading-edge artificial intelligence and wireless capabilities," Michael said. "When you consider the ease of installation and performance, the number of enterprises that can benefit from our IQ Shopper platform could grow exponentially."

A demonstration of the IQ WebShopper can be viewed at www.nqli.com, where prospective customers can register for the beta program and receive a 30- day evaluation of IQ WebShopper upon qualification.
