Cerebellum Software Announces Cerebellum 2.0

Cerebellum Software Inc announced the general availability of Cerebellum 2.0, the Internet Data Integration (IDI) solution that provides e-commerce applications and enterprise portals with real-time access to corporate data sources. Cerebellum 2.0's new features allow customers to speed development of e-business projects that use component technologies, extend their application server investments and improve delivery of distributed information to end users.

As an IDI solution, Cerebellum 2.0 gives developers a universal way to provide Web-based applications with the ability to access, integrate, update and delete information from relational, legacy and ERP data sources in real time.

In addition to its new Internet data integration features, Cerebellum 2.0 is designed to run in process with the SilverStream Software Application Server, BEA WebLogic Server and the Bluestone Software Total-e-Server, resulting in a more efficient e-business middleware infrastructure.

Cerebellum simplifies the work involved with giving Internet applications real-time access to data previously difficult to integrate. Internet data integration is achieved through Cerebellum's highly graphical interface, which makes it possible in 2.0 to quickly generate and automatically map business logic components, such as Enterprise JavaBean (EJB) technology entity beans, to existing data without writing a line of code, saving users time and capital investment.

Cerebellum currently supports access, updates and deletions to information stored in major relational databases, DB2, legacy systems, SAP's R/3 System, and flat file repositories.

Because components developed in Cerebellum can be easily re-mapped to new data sources and are independent of the application server, e-business projects supported by this product gain tremendous long-term flexibility, in addition to short-term time to market benefits.

Cerebellum 2.0's major new features and enhancements include:

• Expanded deployment options for data components, including EJB entity beans, SilverStream Data Source Objects (DSOs), or proprietary Cerebellum data components that support Java and C++ applications.
• The power to import Rational Rose models for quick and visual generation of EJBs that are automatically mapped to relational, DB2, legacy, the SAP R/3 System, and other data sources supported by Cerebellum, enabling beanmanaged persistence without the need to write code.
• Ability to run Cerebellum in process with industry-leading application servers (BEA WebLogic, SilverStream Application Server, Bluestone Total-eServer) to provide a tighter, more streamlined server environment.
• Support for the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
• Interface enhancements to make Cerebellum use more intuitive.
