Kronos Introduces Workforce Timekeeper Version 3.2Kronos Incorporated, a leading provider of frontline labor management solutions, reasserted its domination of the market by introducing a fully scalable version of its application suite, Workforce Timekeeper. Version 3.2, released this month, now supports a 100,000-employee database on Oracle (NT and UNIX) or a 30,000-employee database on MS SQL Server or Informix. Also with this release, Kronos offers a single server solution for the small- to mid-size end of the market. The low-end solution uses database scripts, therefore reducing the need for a full time or on-site DBA and making it more accessible for small companies. This two-pronged approach virtually guarantees continued market domination by Kronos, which currently holds more than 50 percent market share. "There is now a good-fit solution for companies of all sizes," said Mark S. Ain, Kronos' CEO and chairman. "By scaling our functionality, we are making it possible for organizations of all sizes to realize the benefits of labor management technology." Because of its stringent and extensive test requirements, Kronos established an in-house group of engineers devoted to performance and scalability testing. "Our testing sets a very high bar for the industry," continued Ain. "We have seen many small competitors drop out because they cannot keep up with customer demands, especially in assuring quality performance. Small players can't compete because they can't devote the resources to testing and modeling." Kronos' Workforce Central suite includes frontline labor management applications for time and attendance, leave management, employee scheduling, labor analytics and labor activities. The suite has a variety of employee and supervisor interaction methods that can be deployed concurrently within an organization, giving companies the ability to choose preferred methods to meet the different needs of their employees' work environments.
