Wonderware Releases ActiveFactory Suite v.3.1.1

Wonderware announces the release of ActiveFactory Suite, version 3.1.1. ActiveFactory is designed to bridge the gap between the data stored in Wonderware's Industrial SQL Server and all of the potential users of that information in an organization.

This complimentary set of high-performance database client tools allows users to easily mine the wealth of information stored in an organization's Industrial SQL servers from Wonderware and other online corporate relational database resources.

ActiveFactory 3.1.1 is one of the initial product offerings from Wonderware's new Advanced Client Technology (ACT) strategy that includes a series of new multi-client access technologies and software tools. ACT products are designed to help companies seamlessly integrate critical, real-time plant floor data captured by Wonderware's FactorySuite and MaintenanceSuite platforms with the rest of their business enterprise operations.

Wonderware will showcase and demonstrate ActiveFactory 3.1.1, as well as its other new ACT offerings as part of its exhibit at the 2000 ISA Show in New Orleans, Booth No. 2527.

ActiveFactory is a full-featured suite of client applications that maximizes the value of the data in Wonderware's InSQL. The suite allows dissemination of information on an intranet and Internet; trend analysis of data over time; easy numerical analysis of data in MS Excel; ad hoc access to all of the data in InSQL; graphical visualization of the current plant state; and data reporting.

ActiveFactory 3.1.1 includes stand-alone applications Trend, View and Query. It also includes two add-ins to MS-Office (Report and Workbook) that link InSQL data to the power of MS Word and MS Excel.

Use of the ActiveFactory constituent controls (such as the Tag Picker, TimeBar, etc.) in any application is possible with an ActiveFactory server license.

ActiveFactory key features:

• ActiveFactory Trend enables trending of historical and real-time data over time. Powerful features allow data to be compared with other data from different periods. Alarms and limit excursions are readily visible.
• ActiveFactory Query, a point and click tool, allows complex queries to be built against any InSQL data without any knowledge of the data base structure or SQL.
• ActiveFactory Report is an add-in to MS Word that allows sophisticated reporting from InSQL.
• ActiveFactory WorkBook is an add-in to MS Excel that allows for almost any type of analysis and display of data from InSQL.
• Languages supported include: English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Czech, Russian and Polish.
• iQuery and iTrend offer the essential features of Trend and Query as ActiveX controls for use in Web and other custom solutions.
• Support for multiple servers and multiple InSQL versions; and
• Concurrent server and seat-based licensing.

ActiveFactory allows authorized users at all levels in an organization to easily access IndustrialSQL data through simple point-and-click dialogs. At the touch of a button, they can generate sophisticated Web-enabled analyses of the data, create custom reports and share them with selected individuals equipped with an intranet or Internet connection. These functions may be initiated manually, on-demand, on-condition, by time or event, or fully automated using Microsoft or Wonderware scripting engines.

Users may simultaneously connect to as many SQL data sources as required with complete security. ActiveFactory does not strain the existing factory network, corporate network or company intranet. Network licensing options include individual seat-based and concurrent server-based scenarios.
