SAS Veteran Named President of DataFluxTony Fisher, a 15-year employee of SAS Institute, was appointed president of DataFlux Corp. DataFlux, a data quality product provider in Raleigh, N.C., was acquired in June by SAS, a market leader in Web-enabled data warehousing and decision support. Fisher, who previously served as SAS' director of data warehouse technology, will be responsible for orchestrating a successful collaboration of SAS and DataFlux technologies. "Tony Fisher's knowledge of SAS data warehousing technology and solutions will enhance the relationship between SAS and DataFlux," said Jim Davis, vice president of SAS' Worldwide Marketing Division. "Under his leadership and direction, we anticipate a very successful joint relationship as both organizations work together to incorporate DataFlux's data quality technology into SAS solutions." Data quality is an important aspect in the business decision-making process, Fisher said. "The DataFlux product suite is engineered to provide better data quality, and therefore better decisions about customers, suppliers, internal company processes and more," says Fisher. "By applying DataFlux's technology to SAS' analytic tools, the companies will increase the overall quality of the data produced." Fisher replaces Stephen Wiehe, who has moved into SAS' business development and strategic investment division.
