Oracle Announces Clickstream Intelligence

Adding to its capabilities to deliver a 360-degree, real-time view of e-business, Oracle Corp announced Oracle Clickstream Intelligence, a new fullfeatured click-stream analysis product that will help take the guess-work out of e-business success. Oracle Clickstream Intelligence provides an integrated analytic solution for gathering and analyzing information about Web site visitor usage and business performance.

In today's business climate, the success of an e-business depends on how well a Web site meets customer needs and business objectives. Oracle Clickstream Intelligence will provide the information e-businesses need to ensure that Web sites are optimized to acquire customers, foster loyalty, and generate profit.

"Oracle Clickstream Intelligence delivers pre-built functionality and extensive reports that will enable rapid implementation," said Michael Howard, vice president, Oracle Data Warehouse division. "With open-ended extensibility, Oracle Clickstream Intelligence can incorporate data from Web and traditional business systems, making it uniquely suited for any business making the transition from brick-and-mortar to click-and-mortar. Its flexibility and scalability will also support the needs of Application Service Providers and B2B exchanges."

By integrating click-by-click Web site traffic analysis with key customer transaction data stored in operational systems, Oracle Clickstream Intelligence provides the ability to: view comprehensive customer intelligence by combining Web traffic data with data acquired from other applications; analyze usage patterns to enhance the visitor's Web site experience; and enhance Web site performance through the most popular navigation paths.

Based on Oracle's industry-leading technology infrastructure for business intelligence and part of Oracle Intelligent WebHouse, Oracle Clickstream Intelligence:

  • Leverages Oracle Warehouse Builder to provide an open and extensible architecture for easy and systematic customization to meet a company's unique business requirements, including the incorporation of additional customer, demographic and business transaction data. It is also compatible with Oracle e-Business suite to integrate with Oracle iStore and iMarketing applications.
  • Offers Metadata compliance with the OMG's Common Warehouse Metamodel standard, enabling interoperability with the full spectrum of Oracle's reporting and analytical tools and compliant third-party tools.
  • Will fully leverage the unique data warehousing capabilities of Oracle9i to provide exceptional scalability and performance.
  • Will leverage the Oracle Personalization technology of Oracle9i (see separate release) to provide real-time recommendations based on customer behaviors, preferences, and purchases.
  • Integrates with external Content Management and Personalization engines to incorporate dynamically generated content into the analytic process.

Availability

Oracle Clickstream Intelligence is scheduled to be available for purchase by the end of 2000. It will be further optimized for the release of Oracle9i, planned for Spring 2001.
