NQL Announces Full Release of NQL Enterprise EditionNQL Inc announced the full release of the NQL Enterprise Edition of its Network Query Language software with features to support large-scale ecommerce application development. NQL Enterprise Edition was created with a new licensing scheme designed to enable large solution providers and corporations to leverage the power of Network Query Language-based solutions more effectively. The new concurrent licensing scheme allows NQL customers to purchase remote development clients in packs of four, ten or 50 to accommodate large teams of developers working on NQL-powered applications. The commerce-enabled NQL Enterprise Edition runs on Windows 2000 or NT platforms while providing important e-commerce related features such as Microsoft's Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Open Financial Exchange (OFX) and credit card payments. SOAP, the basis for the recently announced Microsoft .NET architecture, allows the handling of information queries across varying network architectures by leveraging XML and the Web. The NQL Enterprise Edition could substantially shorten the SOAP time to market by automating its implementation to the point where, in many instances, a SOAP query could be written into an application with one or two lines of code. NQL Enterprise Edition also offers support for OFX and credit card payments. OFX is an industry-standard protocol used by banks, stockbrokers and other financial institutions for conducting cross-platform monetary transactions. With credit card payment support, an NQL script can perform credit card verifications, charges and refunds. Two major providers for the interaction between a merchant and the appropriate financial institution are already supported: CyberSource and CyberCash. NQL is currently expanding its customer service and support programs to provide additional resources required by enterprise system developers and integrators. "We look to the NQL Enterprise Edition as a sensible option for large-scale development houses and corporations who need these dynamic e-commerce capabilities," said NQL vice president of marketing Denny Michael. "E-commerce is a natural venue for intelligent agent technology, which can supply its precise and discerning decision-making capabilities to applications that involve moving large amounts of sensitive information." The beta version of the NQL Enterprise Edition was launched in June when the product was made available to end users, VARs, integrators and OEMs participating in an evaluation and feedback program. NQL Enterprise Edition costs $10,000 with two remote development licenses included. Users can buy additional remote development licenses in packs of four, ten and 50.
