CACI Releases New Version of SIMPROCESS for ERP

CACI International Inc announced the release of a new version of its premier simulation tool -- SIMPROCESS, CACI's object-oriented analytical simulation software. Offering enhanced features and new user benefits, SIMPROCESS, which has modeled everything from Census 2000 processes to insurance claims workflow, can now serve an expanded range of markets. With new features that simplify Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation, especially as it applies to improving marketing and supply chains for both e-Business and "brick and mortar" organizations, SIMPROCESS provides greater process-modeling capability than ever before, at reduced time and cost. The upgrade also begins a sequence of enhancements that are expected to use Java and XML to make SIMPROCESS Internet-accessible and compatible. This development path is part of CACI's strategy to expand its legacy technology distinctions to meet growing new market needs.

Achieving successful ERP implementation has proven especially difficult for many organizations. Over the last decade, failure rates have ranged from 40% to as high as 90%, depending upon the definition of "success."[1] CACI's new SIMPROCESS, with enhanced features that help companies identify and select ERP software to best suit business goals and processes, can improve the success rate of ERP implementation.

"Successful ERP implementations employ a thorough review and documentation of a enterprise's entire company-wide business processes and ERP goals, combined with a comprehensive understanding of its business culture," noted Ken Johnson, president of CACI Inc. "SIMPROCESS aids this process by matching ERP software applications to company goals and processes, and modeling in a clear and easy-to-understand manner, a variety of options clients can evaluate before committing time and resources."

Another powerful new feature in SIMPROCESS is its Experiment Manager. Experiment Manager enables users to create a multitude of experiments -- or "what-if" scenarios -- to test how alternative processes meet enterprise needs. With Experiment Manager, SIMPROCESS can simultaneously model different processes, for example alternative workflows for a new call center operation to service a Website, then place results in a database for easy comparisons. The new SIMPROCESS also documents process definitions using any word processor application, and an expanded linkage to Microsoft Access simplifies outputting statistical backups for review. These features enable users to perform more thorough analyses more quickly, saving significant implementation time and money.

According to CACI Chairman and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, "Releasing this major upgrade is an outstanding example of CACI's strategy for market expansion. SIMPROCESS allows CACI to move forward with proven products upgraded to meet current and future market demands, while also expanding our client base. Moreover, CACI will continue to enhance SIMPROCESS to stay ahead of market demands."
