Decision Support Panel Enables DW Analyses Over The Web

Decision Support Panel, a Swedish Microsoft Solution Provider, is pleased to announce DSP Standard Edition for Outlook Web Access enabling Data Warehouse analyses over the Web.

"When we learned that knowledge workers spend 52 % of their time by the computer in Outlook we developed our first product, the DSP Outlook Client, for Outlook 2000. With the release of Outlook Web Access in Exchange 2000 this figure will continue to increase", says Peder Ekstrand, CEO of Decision Support Panel. "Nevertheless, the users will be divided into two different groups, as some will use the Office version of Outlook and others the Web version."

"With the launch of Exchange 2000, customers will be considering DSP for advanced collaborative solutions that utilize the strength of Exchange 2000's Web Storage System," said Stan Sorensen, group product manger, Server Applications at Microsoft.

DSP Outlook Web Access provides knowledge workers with the ability to collaborate with and access the information in their Data Warehouse with almost the same rich functionality as in their Outlook 2000 client. Since the introduction of DSP Standard Edition for the Office version of Outlook 2000 it has been possible to make collaborative OLAP analyses. Practically the same functionalities will be available over the Web with the releases of Exchange 2000 and DSP Standard Edition for Outlook Web Access.

Features of DSP Standard Edition for Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access:

  • Makes your saved analysis available over Internet.
  • Takes advantage of Microsoft Office Web Components (the pivot- and graph objects).
  • Makes it possible to work with actual data, using the new feature in Microsoft Analysis Services, connecting to the cube over HTTP.

Decision Support Panel was founded in August 1999 in Stockholm with the vision and objective to develop and market an "Infrastructure for Collaborative Data Warehousing" integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Digital Dashboards. Moreover, Decision Support Panel is one of ten "Query, Reporting and Analysis Tools" partners in the "Microsoft Data Warehousing Alliance".
