Gensym's Integrity Platform is Chosen by CSC

Gensym Corporation, a leader in adaptive software products for modeling, simulating and monitoring e-business infrastructure, announced that Computer Sciences Corporation has selected Gensym's Integrity software platform for its global integrated enterprise initiative. CSC's Global Infrastructure Services Group (GIS) purchased Integrity, Gensym's platform for continuous service availability, and G2 Classic, the award-winning platform for monitoring, control and optimization of complex business processes, for deployment in its network-management services program.

CSC provides a full spectrum of outsourcing services, spanning systems integration, network operations, data center services/operations and desktop management. The integrated enterprise initiative will streamline CSC's infrastructure service offerings by deploying common policies for the operation of data centers.

CSC chose Integrity for its industrial-strength performance and ability to integrate tool sets, which will enable CSC to better manage operations and solve problems faster. CSC is deploying Gensym software in its data centers worldwide.

Integrity acts as the inferencing component of CSC's new Integrated Enterprise Management Center (IEMC). Gensym's technology acts as the "manager of managers" and enables more efficient operations, quicker problem resolution and increased automation of procedures. CSC provides day-to-day operations for computer and network platforms, among other services, and with Integrity can minimize the frequency and duration of outages. When outages do occur, CSC can be more proactive in informing customers of outages and their effects on service.

"The flexibility, extensibility and forward-looking component architecture of the Integrity product family made Gensym a clear choice from among the many inferencing product companies in the marketplace," said Jeff Andrew, vice president, CSC GIS Global Production Operations. "With its root-cause analysis and automation capabilities, Integrity will improve the productivity and response of CSC Global Production Operations staff in servicing CSC clients. It alleviates the routine, but necessary, tasks associated with an outage, so that we can focus on fixing the problem."

Integrity helps operate and maintain infrastructure by intelligently managing faults and service levels. Integrity maintains the continuous availability of client business applications by quickly detecting, diagnosing and correcting problems on computers, software applications and communications networks. With Integrity, CSC will lower operating costs, improve service availability, increase system availability and reduce the cost and technical risk associated with accelerated implementation of systems for managing service levels.
