City of Dayton Selects CorVu

CorVu Corporation, a leading provider of Enterprise Business Performance Management, Balanced Scorecard and Business Intelligence solutions, announced that the City of Dayton has chosen CorVu to better understand and improve the performance of its life-saving police and fire departments. Using CorVu, the City has more timely access to its data which will help in being able to better allocate manpower resources throughout each of its districts. Dayton's police department's goal is to improve average response times, while the fire department's goal is to match the resources dispatched to the needs of each incident, so that community businesses, homes and families are even better served by both departments. CorVu is helping the Dayton Fire Department get a better idea of the "true picture" of the Fire and EMS demand as well as how well they match resources to the actual need and time frames involved in their service delivery package.

With CorVu, the Dayton Police Department is evaluating customer service from initial dispatch to the end of an incident. With that performance data they are gaining a better understanding of their service delivery throughout each of the police districts. During the proof of concept period, CorVu's strength became quite apparent. Its native connections to both Progress and Oracle databases, paired with its ability to link our performance results to our strategy, made it obvious that CorVu offers an effective way to ensure that we give Dayton's citizens the best possible service.

"We are proud to be working with the City of Dayton to improve the performance of its public services," stated Justin MacIntosh, CEO, CorVu. "We are committed to providing all our customers a true strategic management system by offering an automated, best-of-breed business performance management solution. CorVu's solutions satisfy mission-critical business performance management needs, both at tactical and strategic levels, by building accountability into every action and providing a consistent basis to react to real-time events. We're helping the police and fire departments to achieve higher levels of performance by keeping everyone focused on results."

The City of Dayton currently has 51 users throughout the police and fire departments using CorVu, and has plans to continue expanding its use throughout the ranks beyond the command staff. Among the many facets of operations being measured are dispatch data such as average response and delay times, times of day and locations of emergency calls, and crew out-of-service data. With performance results gleaned from CorVu, the City of Dayton is better able to review response times and how staffing is allocated to reflect demand, ultimately saving time, money, property and lives.
