US Government to Deploy Visual Analytics' VisuaLinks

Visual Analytics Inc (VAI) announced a long-term agreement to license its visual data mining software, VisuaLinks, to the U.S. Government for use in counter-drug analytical environments. The Government will deploy VisuaLinks, the industry's first Java-based link analysis and visualization solution, to uncover links in narcotics-related smuggling networks and their related infrastructures. VisuaLinks is critical in enabling timely decision-making on large, complex data sets.

This new breed of software uses cutting-edge visual data mining techniques and is regarded as one of the world's most advanced analytical systems. It is capable of detecting patterns, anomalies, and trends by presenting its results via interactive graphical network displays. VisuaLinks couples to any relational database, data warehouse, or knowledge repository using its XML-based model builder that dynamically inspects and pulls together disparate data sources through real-time database connections. This system is an n-tier environment and has sophisticated components that support unparalleled collaborative data analyses vital for decision-making and business intelligence functions.

VisuaLinks is designed to operate in distributed environments and has capabilities to access, extract, clean, combine, and present large quantities of data. "VisuaLinks is the spearhead for our Data Clarity Environment (DCE) currently under development," says Chris Westphal, CEO of Visual Analytics. "It is an extremely powerful and versatile tool that we expect to fulfill other needs such as corporate fraud, money laundering, and waste and abuse of services in the private and government sectors. Those are just a few of the target areas -- the sky's the limit for how this system can be applied."
