e.Intelligence Launches e.Intelligence Suite 4.1e.Intelligence Inc, a leader in extending the data warehouse to deliver analytical supply-chain solutions, announced the availability of e.Intelligence Suite 4.1, an upgrade to its collaborative business intelligence (c-BI) software platform for large scale data analyses. The suite is the only software that enables Web-based users throughout an organization to conduct analyses - and collaborate with others to refine these analyses - via a collaborative hub. This hub utilizes the high volume, complex real-time data from the organization's data warehouse, thereby allowing users to make dynamic, consensus-based decisions that improve e-commerce and supply-chain planning. e.Intelligence Suite 4.1 offers improved Web accessibility, enhanced database read-write performance for statistical and collaborative analysis, editable calculated facts, and enhanced auditing capabilities. Version 4.1 also improves on earlier versions by allowing data to be imported and exported to Excel spreadsheets to extend the reach of business intelligence (BI) into an analytic environment that has not been served by traditional BI tools. The upgrade is the latest to a product that was originally created in 1996. Early adopter companies of version 4.1 include Goodyear and Cargill. "This upgrade is part of our ongoing quest to improve the integration of business intelligence and business processes," said Richard Tanler, president and CEO of e.Intelligence. "Our goal is to promote consensus decision making within enterprises and B2B exchanges. With version 4.1, non-technical users can conduct `what-if' analyses to build more accurate plans and make informed decisions faster. Collaboration is crucial for forecasting, planning, merchandising, procurement and logistics to lower operational costs and improve customer satisfaction." Today, far too many users rely on personal spreadsheets for data analysis, which results in hundreds or thousands of important but largely unsupported analytic application silos. This occurs because most existing business analysis tools lack derivative analytic capabilities that allow for what-if predictive analyses. The e.Intelligence Suite leverages the data warehouse as the enterprise Language Standard for collaboration, which enables users to access and exchange information, assess the impact of `what-if' scenarios on business plans, simulate the impact of decisions to reach consensus, and then implement consensus-based decisions. Forward-looking analyses also can be easily sub-analyzed by simply drilling up or down into more- or less-detailed levels of data and can be joined with back-end data sources such as the data warehouse. The net result of all these capabilities is that organizations are now able to leverage more fully their large data warehouse investment. "For the first time, users can view the impact of changes they make in reports and share their analysis with others to reach consensus on decisions," said Tanler. "This information is committed to the data warehouse, offering true closed-loop decision support."
