Sand and CeDimension Receive $200,000 Nucleus Order

Sand Technology Inc, a developer of high performance, scalable software systems for data mining, data marts, data warehouses and online analytical processing, and major European IT solution and service provider to Fortune 1000 companies, CeDimension, announce the signing of a significant European contract to supply ground breaking information delivery solution to Major European Parcel Delivery Operator.

• Relational data volumes were reduced by 80% in Nucleus.
• Flat file data volumes were reduced by 68%.
• A tuned relational query that took 42 minutes was reduced to 4 mins in an un-tuned Nucleus environment.
• A query that took 5 minutes, took only 44 seconds in Nucleus.
• A very complex relational query that previously did not succeed at all because it took too much time, analysis and indexing to set it up, was simple to do in Nucleus.
• Nucleus proved scalability for large numbers of users and very high volumes of data on a low cost NT Platform.
• Nucleus supports continuous data loads into the system without the need to generate expensive copies of the database tables and provides 24 x 7 availability for Web applications.

The customer has supply chain data on all movements of every package; for example, date/time transported from which location to which destination. The analysis through Nucleus provides them with an insight into the logistical efficiency of their operations and where they may be able to improve such.
