Informix Software to Port Foundation 2000 Products

Informix Software, the database company, a subsidiary of Informix Corporation, announced that it has optimized Informix Dynamic Server.2000 (IDS 2000), the first of four members of the Informix Foundation 2000 product line, for mission-critical Itanium-based servers running the HP-UX operating system.

The port of Foundation 2000 products to the Itanium processor family architecture that was co-invented by Hewlett-Packard Co and Intel will increase performance, capacity and scalability for customers of Informix Software and HP.

By porting IDS 2000 to HP-UX, Informix Software and HP are demonstrating their commitment to ensure ongoing return on investment for customers while allowing them to take advantage of new technology. Other Foundation 2000 products will be ported to HP-UX to coincide with HP's shipments of Itanium-based systems.

Informix Foundation 2000 is a high-performance, fully extensible data and content management platform for the Internet. IDS 2000 is a transaction engine that can support thousands of users and provides the reliability, scalability and availability necessary for large transaction-processing systems.
