WEB ANALYTICS MARKET INCREASES 200% ANNUALLY

In a recent report, Aberdeen Group, a leading provider of technology market consulting and research, states that the Web analytics market is growing at 200% annually and is projected to be a $4 billion market in 2004.

A Web analytics system analyzes Web visitors' online behavior, allowing enterprises to optimize their Web site structure and content to better serve their customers. Enterprises can increase customer loyalty and sales by continually monitoring -- and reacting to -- the interaction between Web site offers and Web visitor actions.

"With a current market size of $425 million and a growth rate of 200%, Web analytics suppliers are delivering a capability that e-Businesses are hungry for -- the ability to better understand their Web visitors," says report author Guy Creese. "In today's back-to-basics market, e-Businesses are recognizing that an optimized Web site that brings in repeat visitors and repeat profits is not a luxury but a requirement."

The report, entitled "Web Analytics: Translating Clicks into Business," identifies the six key elements of a Web analytics solution, describes the technological and organizational issues that enterprises must consider when selecting a Web analytics solution, and profiles 36 solution providers.

Profiled suppliers are Accrue Software Inc; Buystream; comScore Networks; Coremetrics Inc; Elytics Inc; E.piphany; Foveon Corporation; IBM Global Services; Informix Business Solutions; Keylime Software; Macromedia Inc; Media Metrix; Microsoft Corporation; MicroStrategy Inc; MyComputer.com Inc; NCR Corporation; NetAcumen Inc; NetGenesis Corporation; Net Perceptions Inc; Personify Inc; Quadstone; Quest Software Inc; Sane Solutions LLC; SAS Institute Inc; SPSS Inc; TeaLeaf Technology; Telemate.Net Software Inc; The .COM Group; Torrent Systems; Visual Insights; Vividence Corporation; WebCriteria Inc; WebSideStory Inc; WebTrends Corporation; WhiteCross Systems Ltd; and Word of Net Inc.
