Pervasive.SQL 2000i Beta Now Available

Pervasive Software Inc announced its release of Pervasive.SQL 2000i beta, including new Web-focused features designed to simplify data management for Internet applications.

"Pervasive.SQL 2000i represents a significant step forward for Pervasive Software and extends Pervasive's unique combination of power and simplicity to the Web database market," said Bruce Flory, vice president of Marketing at Pervasive Software.

Pervasive.SQL 2000i's new pure Java JDBC 2.0 driver seeks to provide better overall performance and scalability for Internet applications. Features such as iCommand and iRowset fully complete the OLE DB environment and offer increased compatibility. And Enhanced Client Support aims to reduce operating costs and allow for immediate deployment across the Internet or Intranet.

Although Pervasive.SQL 2000i represents a more pointed focus on Web applications, many of Pervasive's clients, such as Nxtres, a provider of software applications for the travel industry, have already been using Pervasive.SQL 2000 on the Web.
