Oracle Offers Free Linux CDs to Developers

Oracle announced that more than 1.3 million members of Oracle's developer program, Oracle Technology Network (OTN), can register to receive a free CD of Oracle9i Application Server on Linux. A new edition to the line up of Oracle database and tools available on Linux, Oracle9i Application Server on Linux was recently made available for free download off OTN and is now also offered in CD format. Over the past three months, more than 400,000 developers have already downloaded one of the many Oracle enterprise software products for Linux from OTN. Based on open industry standards with support for the latest Java and XML specifications, Oracle continues to deliver its complete and simple software on more than 40 operating system platforms, providing developers worldwide the widest range of deployment options for Internet applications.
