ETI Introduces New Software for DB2 DatabasesEvolutionary Technologies International Inc (ETI), a leading provider of data integration management software, introduced the Data System Library (DSL) for C/DB2. A new addition to the ETI-EXTRACT Tool Suite, the DSL for C/DB2 offers users the ability to utilize the C programming language to natively access data stored in DB2 databases. Designed to provide flexible, high performance access, the product can be used to read from and write to DB2 databases employed in e-business applications, enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and data warehouses. According to International Data Corporation (IDC), the RDBMS (Relational DataBase Management Systems) market was $11 billion in 1999, and expected to grow to $26 billion by 2004. They place IBM's revenue with DB2 in 1999 at $2.3 billion, equating to a 21% marketshare. In addition, a recent study by Yevich, Lawson and Associates stated that most of the largest customer data warehousing implementations use IBM's DB2 database. A large part of this growth is due to new e-business and CRM applications, as well as the building of large data warehouses to support analytical applications like Siebel. "Organizations with complex transformation requirements, or short timeframes for updating new e-business and CRM applications hosted on DB2 databases, will benefit from ETI's DSL for C/DB2," said Juan Carlos Martinez, ETI's vice president of marketing. "It is a highly customizable, performance-oriented solution with a rich set of transformations." To create a complete view of data for analytical applications, the DSL for C/DB2 features data transformation capabilities that include cleansing, modification, lookup, aggregation and selective retrieval. It also supports the efficient parallel loading processes of DB2 UDB. About ETI-EXTRACTThe ETI-EXTRACT Tool Suite is an extract, transform and load (ETL) software solution that automates the exchange of information between incompatible systems. ETI's family of Data System Libraries enables ETI-EXTRACT to generate programs in the language most appropriate for the database being accessed and platform on which it resides, a more cost-effective and less time consuming solution than hand-coding. About ETIETI's enterprise data integration management software products are used by Global 1000 companies to reduce costs and time while improving quality in projects, such as ERP implementation, data consolidation and data warehouse development.
