comScore MAXIMIZES SYBASE ADAPTIVE SERVER IQ MULTIPLEX ON NT

Sybase Inc announced the successful implementation of a two-terabyte data warehouse on Sybase Adaptive Server IQ Multiplex for NT at comScore Networks, a leading supplier of Internet infrastructure services. comScore was awarded the Grand Prize in the Winter Corporation Database Scalability Survey of very large databases for its innovative use of data warehousing in an NT environment.

comScore's Customer Knowledge Platform is a service designed to improve business solutions by capturing a comprehensive "360 degree view" of surfing and buying activity across the Web, by electronically monitoring more than one million people who have opted-in to allow their on-line behavior to be anonymously tracked and captured on a totally confidential basis. Their solution helps e-Businesses ensure that they not only attract and retain buyers, but also build profitable and sustainable businesses by providing them with accurate, real-time market intelligence on consumer behavior.

All of the information comScore gathers is stored on a 2.0 terabyte IQ Multiplex portal-ready data warehouse based on an NT platform. Using Sybase IQ Multiplex has enabled comScore to design a very large, high-performance data warehouse on an inexpensive platform. comScore chose IQ Multiplex for its scalability and performance on NT. Their decision to base their data warehouse on NT puts them on the cutting edge of data warehousing, and also helps the company reduce costs, increase sales, and more efficiently realize revenue and profit goals for comScore customers.

"In our annual survey, comScore's solution using Sybase Adaptive Server IQ received the grand prize for implementing the largest data warehouse in the world on an NT platform," said Richard Winter, president, Winter Corporation. "This category did not exist a year ago, but Sybase's multiplexing technology allows NT to be a viable option for large scale data warehousing today."

Designed specifically from the ground up to meet the needs of business intelligence and a new generation of scalability requirements, IQ Multiplex is a high-performance relational database that offers users breakthrough speed, ad hoc analysis capability and unrivaled scalability. IQ has enabled comScore to develop and test market their solution, as well as scale their solution to meet the information and performance needs of their customers.

"We rely on our data warehouse to provide accurate market intelligence and purchasing information to the world's leading enterprises," said Ric Elert, vice president, engineering, comScore Networks. "Our continually growing, very large data warehouse requires a scalable, high-performance database engine. Sybase Adaptive Server IQ Multiplex provides the performance and scalability necessary in a Web environment, while allowing us to use our existing NT infrastructure with its multiplex capabilities."

With over 1 million subscribers and a growing customer list, comScore and Sybase are building a strong and profitable relationship.
