Kamoon's Knowledge Commerce Solution Empowers Companies

Kamoon Inc, the infrastructure software company that powers the expert services component of business on the Web, introduced the Kamoon Knowledge Commerce Solution. The most comprehensive infrastructure application available, the solution enables Fortune 1000 and leading companies to leverage the power of the Internet for full-service 24/7 business online. Companies gain the ability to manage and deliver real-time expertise-based interactions and critical human-assisted services online, and can tap in-house knowledge capital for commerce or "knowledge for commerce."

"We are pleased to offer the Kamoon Knowledge Commerce Solution, an exciting milestone in both the evolution of our product and the growth of our business," said Yali Harari, president and CEO of Kamoon Inc. "We recognized that companies were lacking a key component to conduct business on the Web: real and proactive human interaction. Our software quickly resolves this issue and provides for optimal Internet performance for a growing networked services economy." Kamoon's technology allows businesses in financial services, professional services, and B-to-B marketplaces to define and optimize their knowledge commerce channels to:

  • Gain market share by accessing new customer segments online;
  • Generate e-revenues from online channels;
  • Increase customer satisfaction with whole product offerings;
  • Accelerate sales cycles and increase cross-selling opportunities;
  • Qualify leads and better utilize personnel resources;
  • Develop unique insights into customers' needs to tailor their product and service offerings.

Kamoon's Board of Directors also continues to strategically grow with the arrival of leading knowledge management authority Mike Zisman. A noted visionary and leader in the Knowledge Management arena, Zisman serves as Executive vice president of strategy at Lotus Development Corp, and a consultant to the Group Executive of the IBM Software Group.

"I am pleased to be part of a company that is heralding a unique technology vital to business online -- Kamoon's infrastructure software establishes a unique intersection between CRM and Knowledge Management," said Mike Zisman, executive vice president of strategy at Lotus Development Corporation. "This technology interface is critical because it enables companies to capture tacit knowledge in the form of expertise and make it explicit and sharable and match expertise resources inside or across a partner network."

The Kamoon Knowledge Commerce Solution enables companies to proactively deploy expert resources and seamlessly deliver mission-critical human intervention at any stage of a business process online -- to close sales, maximize leads, and operate as true e-businesses. Unlike expert sites, frequently asked questions (FAQs), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Partnership Relationship Management (PRM) systems, which handle simple requests for information over the Internet, Kamoon addresses high-value business interactions -- complex, non-repetitive communications that require human involvement and create profitable customer relationships.

"Kamoon allows our customers and analysts to connect and communicate efficiently online," said John Megahed, Director, Research and Analysis at PC Data, an online research firm based in Reston, Virginia. "We've gained the right technology to grow and compete online with active commerce channels and the ability to capitalize on more revenue sources."

"Kamoon's Solution complements our customer relations strategy within the B2B marketplace, especially as it lets us add the key human communication component to our interactions and transactions online," said Ellen Perl, senior vice president, Marketing of Zone Trader, a B2B Exchange for surplus business assets. "And the system's rapid implementation and superior routing allows us to deliver the appropriate response, real time."

At the core of the solution is Kamoon's patent-pending Smart Engine technology with a proprietary, dynamic logic engine. It connects a customer's needs to the right expert either inside or across an extended enterprise network, either for a fee-based or value-added service channel.

The Kamoon system is both sophisticated and simple, allowing as few or as many conditions as warranted, in stand-alone or nested format, and learns the business policies based on usage patterns and rules. Kamoon allows a company to implement the rules that define its business practices with an administrative interface, implemented using Java applet technology. It also allows a company to update and change business policies and professional profiles on the fly as market conditions change.

The robust capabilities and modules include:

Intelligent Interface: The flexible and powerful administrative interface serves both professionals (experts) and customers (requestors). For professionals, it facilitates design, change and customization of request and registration templates, encouraging companies to create the ideal form for capturing pertinent details an expert needs to respond intelligently and completely to all requests. Request and registration screens can contain several field types and structures. Multiple request templates can be created, modified, activated or stored for use in the future. In contrast, customers have access to professional profiles that capture and maintain important information regarding the professional's background and experience. This information assists clients who wish to learn more about the experts serving them, or who wish to select professionals to work with from relevant groups.

Resource Manager: Professionals can be easily added or removed from the system, and the rules surrounding their access and use of the system can be modified to accommodate personal preferences, changes in organizational structure or business practices. The firm uses an administrative interface to assign individual or global permissions and control all user and group management. Authorization allows the firm to enable its professionals to perform one or more types of client interactions, including reserving a request, sending a fee quote and sending a response.

Partner Network: The same power and flexibility that firms have over their own expert resources can be extended to business partners, creating a strong and consistent extended enterprise network. The professionals residing in partner firms will be added to the system and managed in the same manner as internal resources.

Interaction Manager: The interaction module creates a structured end-to-end process that facilitates the smooth completion of engagements inside a secure environment and allows companies to know the status of a client request at every stage.

User interfaces for both customers and professionals facilitate the smart routing and matching of information and interactions between any number of parties. All workflow, including status codes and interaction types, are tailored to the firm's unique business model. Communication between clients and experts can contain relevant attachments and links. Correspondence history can be viewed as a table or graphic timeline.

Professionals can filter incoming requests based on work groups, and request status and content of requests, enabling them to efficiently manage their new and existing client engagements. They can then forward or transfer requests to other professionals along with commentary in the event that other individuals are better suited to prepare a client response.

Business Intelligence Center

Kamoon's Knowledge Commerce Solution contains a data warehouse kept in relational form without XML tags that is independent from its operational database. This allows efficient reporting in any format of any of the information in the system, creating a powerful business intelligence center for assessing client product and service needs, cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. As company experts apply themselves to solving the problems of important relationships in a structured and recorded process, Kamoon system enables them to capture and incorporate the insights they develop into the corporate knowledge base. It integrates easily into every aspect of a company's knowledge supply chain -- from internal databases, to internal and external sources of information aggregated and organized in content management systems, to details about clients and prospects stored in eCRM applications. Enhanced reporting capabilities include a greater assortment of standard reports and the ability to create custom reports using market-leading reporting tools. Customers and experts have the ability to filter and sort data to produce a helpful tracking report that summarizes their ongoing business activity.

Financial Policy Module

Kamoon's system supports credit card and electronic payments, and accommodates different arrangements for each of these options, including payment in full, down payments and partial payments, with payments made in advance, upon completion or at stages during a process. These payments can be among two parties or multiple parties, with amounts owed to different parties calculated in dollars or percents. "Kamoon remains dedicated to helping companies conduct business online as successfully as they do offline," said Harari. "In today's emerging and competitive digital arena, businesses will need low-risk, cost-effective tools, like our Knowledge Commerce Solution, to improve communications and interactions among users, and give management the data and monitoring capabilities to unleash successful knowledge commerce business channels." With its innovative functionality and open architecture, Kamoon's Knowledge Commerce Solution easily integrates with a company's existing systems and enterprise applications. Rapid system implementation takes under 30 days.
