Alchemy and Informatica Partner to Integrate e-Biz Data

Data specialist Alchemy Migration Services has signed a new partnership agreement with Informatica to help companies integrate their e-business data with information from traditional ERP, CRM, supply chain and mainframe systems. The combination of Alchemy's ActiveMethod methodology and process with Informatica's range of e-business infrastructure and analytical software provides a powerful solution for the integration, analysis and delivery of high quality enterprise-wide information.

"E-businesses generate large volumes of customer, demographic and transactional data that need to be harnessed for competitive advantage and in order that services can be continually enhanced," says Richard John, managing director of Alchemy Migration Services. "Informatica's new PowerCentre.e technology provides a powerful cross-channel integration platform that allows companies to track, extract and analyse data whenever and wherever it is generated. PowerCentre.e and other Informatica products are a powerful addition to Alchemy's product portfolio that allows us to offer a complete end-to-end data delivery solution."

ActiveMethod provides a methodology and framework for data analysis, building and cleaning that drastically cuts down the cost and time for data delivery - which can currently absorb up to 80% of the effort in major IT projects. Alchemy's analysis-led approach that focuses on the actual source data to build a detailed and thorough understanding of its content, structure and quality, can increase the accuracy of data analysis output from around 40% to over 90%.

"Data migration is one of the key issues challenging many organizations," says Paul Smith, technical alliance manager at Informatica. "Together, Informatica and Alchemy are able to provide solutions to increasingly complex problems faced in the areas of data analysis, e-business, CRM and application migration. The inclusion of Informatica technology in the Alchemy portfolio provides a back-end infrastructure to support this overall process and a robust framework for the end-to-end solution."
