Metagenix Announces $25,000 Desktop MetaRecon 2.5

Metagenix announced that it will begin shipping MetaRecon Version 2.5, the world's first Enterprise Data Management Integrated Development Environment. MetaRecon 2.5 will also be available in a desktop version at the affordable price point of $25,000 for a one-year rental.

This announcement totally changes the pricing paradigm of currently available data profiling and analysis tools with competitor price points of over $1,000,000 in their base configuration.

MetaRecon 2.5 is a significant new development for IT departments implementing CRM, ERP, data warehouse, Ecommerce, merger and acquisition, and data conversion solutions. MetaRecon 2.5 dramatically reduces project risk while decreasing labor costs.

MetaRecon Version 2.5 offers users an analysis of their source data structures and eliminates data ambiguities or incorrect assumptions early in the data migration process.

"There are very few players in the profiling and analysis market," says Lance Carroll, vice president of Strategic Relations for Metagenix. "With this new price point for the desktop version, our plan is to rapidly earn mind-share for our product. This version competes feature for feature with our competitors, but at a price that IT staffs can accept. If you could purchase a better product at 1/40th the price, why wouldn't you?" said Carroll.

The desktop version includes the complete suite of profiling and analysis tools, a source-to-target Transformation Mapping Environment (TME), repository maintenance, reports, and DDL and XML generation. The desktop version runs on a single client machine and includes a license for a single server on the same machine.

The enterprise version includes heavy-duty features such as ETL generation, OLAP generation, multi-user capabilities, an enterprise read-only version, and Unix support.

MetaRecon is the first tool that integrates the entire value chain of Enterprise Data Management tools and completely automates the process of building an EDM System. MetaRecon reverse engineers meta data from raw data, and automatically generates code for other EDM platforms such as Informatica's PowerMart, Informix's DataStage, InterNetivity's dbProbe, and SQL.
