SAN Valley Systems Empowers Next Generation IP Storage

SAN Valley Systems' president and CEO, Sandy Helton outlined the benefits of IP Storage technology at the Morgan Keegan Systems Area Networks Conference 2001. At the meeting of mostly financial analysts and portfolio managers, Mr. Helton provided industry perspective on how the power of Storage Area Networks (SANs) can be extended to allow data capacity and computing power to be optimized for broad sets of applications beyond the data center into Metropolitan and Wide Area Network (MAN and WAN) infrastructures.

Mr. Helton explained the significance of IP storage networking products and their ability to empower enterprise users to expand their networking reach as well as being able to simultaneously share data files across Metropolitan and Wide Area Network locations.

Mr. Helton told the audience, "The innovative IP SAN gateway technology, developed by SAN Valley, is unique in the industry in that it provides wire-speed connectivity for remote disaster recovery and data replication applications for today's fast paced enterprise environments.

"The demand for storage is doubling every 12 months, mainly fueled by e-commerce and the Internet. In order to keep up with that growth, enterprise customers are deploying SANs and partnering with Storage Service Providers (SSPs) to manage the skyrocketing costs of these mission critical infrastructures. These applications require significant bandwidth, low latency and high reliability in order to extend the applications over long distances," said Mr. Helton.

During his presentation, Mr. Helton described how SAN Valley addresses these critical issues by seamlessly interconnecting SAN resources across IP networks at wire speeds, effectively managing the bandwidth requirements across remote network architectures. This enables access to storage from any location using the Gigabit Ethernet connectivity that exists within the data center today.
