SPOTFIRE DELIVERS WEB-BASED ANALYTIC APPLICATIONS

Building on its mission to empower end-users and their enterprises to make great decisions, Spotfire Inc, a leading provider of Web-based analytics software and services (eAnalytics), announced the general availability of Spotfire DecisionSite, a Web-based application designed to ease the pain of turning data into decisions. The product is the first to address the complexities associated with back office data and to equip decision makers with a powerful resource to visually analyze and simultaneously access product, process and customer information from a variety of sources. Decision makers at Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Anadarko Petroleum, 3M and Rohm & Haas, are among the 350 customers already using Spotfire.

Prior to Spotfire DecisionSite, organizations were forced to use a combination of data analysis tools, information access utilities or software packages aimed specifically at one piece of the analytical puzzle. With Spotfire DecisionSite, end users across the enterprise are now free to explore their data and empowered to make decisions using one solution that can connect to any internal or external data source, linking information from any business function or exchange. As a result, the speed and accuracy of decision-making improve.

According to recent analyst reports, the analytical applications market is expected to grow 28% from $2 billion in 1999 to greater than $6 billion in 2004. "Given the complexity and increasing volumes of data, benefits of analytic applications can be greatly enhanced through an easy user interface," said Dan Vesset, a senior analyst with IDC. "Spotfire equips its customers with powerful, interactive visual capabilities and simultaneous access to multiple data sources within a common Web-based application. With its DecisionSite analytic application, Spotfire is helping its customers continually gain insight into the vast stores of enterprise and external data and helping them turn that insight into decisions."

Spotfire DecisionSite, which builds on the attributes and patented technologies found in Spotfire products since the company's inception, is transforming the end user experience with a solution that leads to faster, better and more accurate decisions.

While Spotfire's technologies are already widely adopted by some of the world's leading companies, the Spotfire DecisionSite offering addresses those pain points shared by any organization facing a surplus of data. "No matter what the industry, organizations are looking to take advantage of increased amounts of information to empower their employees to become better decision makers," said Rock Gnatovich, president of Spotfire Inc. "With Spotfire DecisionSite, we've delivered a sophisticated decision engine that can be configured to an individual's role while providing an unparalleled decision-making experience across an organization."
