DevX and IBM to Bring DB2 to the Development Community

DevX.com Inc, the leading IT development portal, announced the launch of the IBM Data Management Pavilion, www.devx.com/dbzone/ibmpavilion, a unique collaboration between DevX and IBM's data management team. The Center provides developers with the crucial information and resources they need to utilize one of the most important database platforms on the market.

The IBM Data Management Pavilion site provides the developer community with a rich source of information to accelerate the creation of the next generation of dynamic, content-rich database solutions. Features include technical tips and techniques, new implementation templates from case studies, educational offerings and events, plus discussion forums for asking "how-to"s of the expert community.

The site is an offshoot of IBM's premier sponsorship of DevX's new Database Development Zone, www.devx.com/dbzone, a specialized resource area on the DevX site. This is the latest of several collaborations DevX has launched to speed adoption of new technology products and serve the critical resource needs of developers. Previous DevX sites were instrumental in the launch and beta testing of products such as Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Windows XP (code-named Microsoft Whistler).

"As the pace of e-business accelerates, customers increasingly require and rely on high-performance data management middleware to drive their businesses," said Jim Kelly, vice president of marketing, IBM Data Management Solutions. "We are pleased to be a partner of DevX as they launch the new IBM Data Management Pavilion on the Web. This site will be an important resource for developers to depend on for information to help them rapidly build and deploy e-business solutions on IBM's award-winning data management middleware including DB2 Universal Database."

"The critical nature of database development makes the creation of sites such as the IBM Data Management Pavilion a key part of providing the most important resources available for corporate developers," said Peter Horan, CEO of DevX.com Inc. "The collaboration is one of many we have planned that take advantage of our unparalleled knowledge of -- and commitment to -- our developer audience."
