SAS Integrates LSF Job Scheduler from Platform Computing

SAS Institute, a market leader in e-intelligence and data warehousing, announced an agreement with Platform Computing to integrate Platform's LSF Job Scheduler with SAS/Warehouse Administrator software release 2.2.

The integration will add distributed resource management (DRM) to data warehousing, helping to reduce the costs of developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise applications. The solution makes scheduling, analyzing and monitoring the processing of distributed application workloads possible across the enterprise. Warehouse Administrator 2.2 is being released as part of the SAS System release 8.2, also released this month.

"The new economy demands highly scalable applications with information available on demand, and SAS is demonstrating market leadership in recognizing that their customers need integrated DRM products and services. We are fully committed to supporting SAS with Platform's LSF and SiteAssure suites of software and are pleased to have SAS as a top-tier Platform partner," said Platform's president Phil Weaver.

"With release 8.2 of the SAS system comes an industry leading scheduling package fully integrated into the SAS system," said Jim Davis, SAS vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "Platform Computing is a market leader in DRM, making them an obvious choice for us as a partner. And LSF Suite offers the distinctive complement of automatic load balancing across nodes to the SAS warehousing solution. This makes Warehouse Administrator the most scaleable and flexible warehousing solution on the market today."

In release 8.2 of SAS software, SAS Integration Technologies provides an IT platform founded on industry standards, that extends the value of SAS decision support, e-Intelligence and data warehousing solutions to other systems and programming environments. This reduces the cost of developing, deploying and maintaining enterprise applications and allows the delivery of quality information to the right people at the right time to assist in decision making.
