Appsmart Software Appoints New CEO

Appsmart Software, a leading provider of packaged analytic application solutions for Microsoft SQL Server, announced the appointment of Robert Brown to the position of chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately.

Brown was previously CEO of Coda Group PLC, an international financial accounting software applications company that was purchased by Baan for $85 million in 1998. During his tenure at Coda, Brown created and managed the company's US subsidiary, turning a $5 million loss into a profitable venture in 18 months. In addition, Brown was instrumental in developing and implementing the company's key international sales and marketing strategies and successfully managed several major development relationships, including Microsoft. Prior to his tenure at Coda, Brown spent four years with Deloitte Haskins & Sells where he consulted with several leading software firms.
